|To:||Riverdell Property, Bald Knob|
|Time:||1hr 7min drive|
|Location:||North West Of Brisbane|
Leave home fully stocked and ready for the adventure.
Arrive at Riverdell – the instructions on how to get there will be emailed to you once you have confirmed your booking. It’s across the road from the wine barrell’ shaped building along the escarpment on the way to Maleny from Landsborough.
By now you would’ve finished unpacking the car and setting up your campsite for the night. Now it’s time to run a muck or simply relax and enjoy the scenery. There is a steep walk from the campsite down to the headwaters of the Mooloola River.. it’s mostly shallow and rocky, but a lovely spot to sit in and relax. If you feel adventurous, you could follow the creek to find deeper pools – ask the owners for their advise on where to go.
Generally this is the check out time, but the owners are very happy to let you check out later.. When we were there we left at 3pm! Just advise them first and see if that’s ok for you too.
Hanging for a coffee? Just a kilometre down the road at the Mary Cairncross Reserve, you’ll find a cafe over looking the beautiful view of the Glass House Mountains, I highly recommend stopping here before you head back to Brisbane and enjoy a delicious coffee and some tasty treats.

A 4WD Weekend Adventure!
This short 1hr drive from Brisbane to the Riverdell Property is very scenic as you ascend the mountain up to Maleny. This fantastic property has large open spaces to spread out and the cattle occasionally pop in to say hello to you. You’re welcome to bring your dog, but you will need to bring your own loo, as there is no facilities here.
The property has lovely green hills leading to the headwaters of the Mooloola Valley. The ground can be very slippery and consists of mainly grass and rocks and the soil gets very soft especially after rain – hence why having a 4WD with good all terrain tyres are only allowed.
